Relationships and Codependency

Difficulty with a friend, family member, partner or colleague is stressful.  If you experience a lot of conflicts, have trust issues, or find yourself focusing so much on others that you neglect yourself in fundamental ways (often referred to as codependency), I can work with you to address these challenges.

Common traits that make relationships difficult include:

  • feeling guarded and unable to connect with others

  • feeling uncared for or unsafe

  • difficulty valuing yourself in relationships

  • feeling taken advantage of

  • continuously finding yourself in relationships that are unhealthy or harmful to you

  • difficulty trusting people

Working together, we can address these unwelcome patterns and identify healthier behaviors and communication skills to help you make more conscious decisions about your relationships, resolve conflicts, ask for what you need, create fulfilling relationships, and know when it’s time to walk away from an unhealthy or unsafe relationship.

Together we can work on:

  • Clear communication

  • Self-care vs. excessive focus on others

  • Attachment or trust issues

  • Infidelity - yours or another’s

  • Sexual intimacy issues

  • Challenges with dating

  • Divorce/break ups

  • Conflict with colleagues

  • Difficult family dynamics

  • Relationship issues related to past trauma

  • Impacts of addiction on your relationships
